A Safer Return to Sport
A structured approach to rebuilding confidence, mobility and performance after injury.
Returning too quickly can increase the chance of another injury.
Strength, control and sport-specific loading should progress against clear milestones.
Why not to rush
Less pain does not mean the injury has fully recovered. Without strength and balance, re-injury is more likely.
What is checked before returning
A therapist tests strength, range of movement, balance and sport-specific movement.
Returning step by step
Start with light practice, then add speed and direction changes before full training.
What you can do at home
Never skip the warm-up, stop if pain increases, and tell your therapist.
